How does the backlink checker work?
It pulls your domain's live backlink profile from DataForSEO's link index: authority, referring domains, backlinks, and the domains gained or lost in the last 30 days. Then it finds the sites you compete with on Google and lists the domains that link to them but not to you.
What is the authority score?
DataForSEO's domain rank on a 0–100 scale, based on the number and strength of the links pointing at a domain. It is similar in spirit to Ahrefs DR or Moz DA, but scores from different tools are not interchangeable, so compare sites using the same tool.
How are competitors detected?
From Google rankings: the domains that rank for the most keywords you also rank for. A new site with few rankings may get none. Add up to three competitors yourself to see the gap.
Which link gap sites should I go after first?
Sites that link to two or more of your competitors. They already link to products like yours, so a relevant pitch has a real chance. Skip anything off-topic, and never buy links.
Why does a profile I'm listed on show as not seen?
The check looks for that site in your live backlink profile. Some listings link through a redirect or haven't been crawled yet, so they don't count as a link to your domain. If you know you're listed, skip it.
Is it free?
